Facial surgery

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty aims to reshape the nose, by reducing nasal humps, shortening the nasal tip and eliminating deformities in order to make it more proportionate to the rest of the face.
This intervention may be necessary for functional or purely aesthetic reasons.
Specifically, rhinoplasty is intended for people with a large and flattened nose, a developed tip, a non-aesthetic nasal appearance, or post-traumatic deformities.

Recommendations to be followed before rhinoplasty

During the consultation, the surgeon must make sure that there are no contraindications to this surgery.
S/he will ask you to have a CT scan examination and a blood test.

In order to minimize any potential risk, it is recommended to

  • Stop smoking at least one month before and after surgery

  • Stop taking aspirin during the 10 days preceding the surgery

Postoperative effects

For better results, it is necessary not to do physically challenging activities for 1 month after surgery. Resumption of normal life is only possible after 3 weeks, which makes it necessary to have a 15-day recovery period.
The final aspect of the nose can only be seen within 3 months (sometimes it takes over a year to see the final result if the patient has thick skin).
Make sure to follow your doctor’s recommendations and stick to the check-up schedule.

Blepharoplasty

Over time, our eyelids undergo undesirable changes, giving a tired or an older look.
Blepharoplasty improves the glance appearance.
It is a plastic eyelid surgery to correct the signs of aging, remove excess skin from the eyelids and eliminate fat pads and wrinkles under the eyes.

What to expect during an initial consultation with the plastic surgeon ?

It is necessary that you consult your plastic surgeon before the surgery in order to :

  • Perform an eye examination to diagnose potential abnormalities (an ophthalmological examination may be prescribed).

  • Carry out an interview and an eyelid examination to better determine the indications and possible contraindications to the surgery.

  • Answer all your questions

What recommendations should be followed before a blepharoplasty ?

Types of blepharoplasty

Face and neck lifting

The cervico-facial lift or the face and neck lift is an intervention that aims to treat sagging skin and correct the effects of aging, while filling in wrinkles and restoring facial harmony.

How to prepare for a face lift?

It is necessary to consult the plastic surgeon, at least twice before the date of the surgery in order to carry out a thorough examination and a personalized diagnosis, while taking into account the skin characteristics.

Before the facelift, it is recommended to stop smoking, at least one month before the surgery.
Besides, taking aspirin is prohibited during the 10 days preceding the intervention.

Recommendations to be followed after a cervico-facial lift

Physically challenging exercises should be avoided during the first ten days following the surgery.

It is recommended that you sleep on your back with your head slightly elevated.

In some cases, wearing a press-lift belt (or an extra-firming mask) is possible during the first
postoperative week.
Stitches are removed within 7 to 15 days

Wearing makeup is possible at least 7 days after the surgery.
You are not allowed to take baths.

Otoplasty

Otoplasty is a surgical procedure that aims to improve the appearance of protruding or large ears, to make them more proportionate to the face

Preoperative consultation

It is necessary for the patient to consult the plastic surgeon before the otoplasty, for the latter to perform a careful examination of the ear deformity.

During this consultation, the surgeon will carry out a preoperative assessment to detect the various ear deformities to be corrected. She will also determine the patient’s motivations for resorting to this procedure.

Preoperative recommendations:

The head and hair should be washed thoroughly the day before the surgery.
You are not allowed to take aspirin during the 10 days preceding the surgery.

Postoperative effects of an otoplasty:

A compression band should be worn 24 hours a day for 15 days.
You should have 3 to 7 days off.
You should avoid exposure to sunlight or cold temperatures during the healing period.

The result of otoplasty can be seen within 2 months.
