What is lipofilling
Lipofilling , or lipomodelling is a breast augmentation surgical procedure through fat transfer. It is based on autologous fat which means removing fat from specific areas of the body through liposuction and reinjecting it into the breast.
Lipofilling goes through three major stages:
-
1. Fat removal: extract small amounts of unwanted fat from the specific part of the body
-
2. Fat purification: get rid from any blood or other fluids that may exist on the extracted fat
-
3. Fat reinjection: small amounts of that purified fat are injected into the breast
Who can undergo this procedure
Lipofilling targets people with excess fat and wishing to increase their breast size naturally by one cup. The fat transferred must be your own fat, and not from another person.
People who are extremely thin cannot undergo this procedure, as the body does not have enough fatty tissues to be removed and reinjected.
What you need to do before lipofilling
Before surgery, the patient needs to carry out the following examinations:
-
Complete preoperative examination
-
Mammogram
-
Analysis of personal or family history of breast cancer
What to expect post-procedure
It takes about two to three months to see the final results. To get the desired results, the patient needs to follow some instructions:
-
During the first 10 days, it is strictly prohibited to take aspirin, anticoagulants, or any food supplements.
-
It is strongly recommended to stop smoking for two months; one before and one after the surgery.
-
The patient should not gain weight otherwise fat will regrow to its former place in a few years.
-
The patient must stay at a stable weight and keep exercising especially after two weeks of the operation.
